Welcome to the twenty-ninth issue of “Sodium-ion Batteries Technology Updates,” a series from Indi Energy, one of the world’s leading sodium battery companies and India’s first indigenous sodium-ion battery manufacturers.
Indi Energy is a DRDO 3.0, NSA’22, & SIDBI Environmental Challenge’24 winner and one of the world’s leading sodium battery companies. In the last five years, we have committed ourselves to researching, developing, and commercializing sodium-ion batteries and customized sodium-ion battery packs.
We are a part of the Make in India initiative; our supply chain for our sodium-ion batteries is completely indigenous, a.k.a., homegrown. We are setting a new benchmark in the energy storage sector by transforming energy storage solutions sustainably.
In this twenty-ninth issue of sodium-ion battery technology updates, we will go through the recent updates in the world of sodium-ion batteries, the energy sector, and an overview of the global energy outlook.
Sodium-ion batteries set to make data more sustainable
Data centers are one of the leading energy consumers around the world. Numerous studies have shown that these facilities can consume up to 5 million gallons of water daily! This usage primarily aims to cool the valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries (VRLA) in UPS systems.
And with more and more data centers integrating artificial intelligence into their operations, the demand for critical power is expected to escalate, driving up water usage even further. The need for innovative, high-power, sustainable battery solutions is urgent!
Enter Indi Energy’s groundbreaking sodium-ion batteries—an advanced alternative that substantially benefits data centers, unlike lead-acid batteries. Our sodium-ion battery packs can deliver an efficiency level of 90-95%, maximizing power utilization, and minimizing waste.
But what’s even more amazing is that customized sodium-ion battery packs by Indi Energy have an energy density that far surpasses the meager 30-40 Wh/kg offered by lead-acid batteries, which means that sodium-ion batteries not only provide improved performance but also make far better use of space.
We still haven’t reached the highlight yet! Unlike conventional lead-acid batteries, our sodium-ion technology operates efficiently across a broad temperature range, reducing the need for a cooling system and operational complexity. Furthermore, the longevity of our sodium-ion batteries translates directly to significant cost savings over time, making them ‘THE’ compelling investment for data center operators.
Indi Energy wishes you a Happy Mother’s Day!
To all the mothers out there, your unconditional love, gentle care, and selfless devotion are a constant source of inspiration for us all. Your unwavering strength and resilience continue to teach valuable lessons every day. Just like Mother Nature, you sustain lives, give abundantly, and never ask for anything in return.
As we celebrate motherhood, let’s take a moment to reflect on the interconnectedness between a mother’s love and our responsibility to them. Let’s commit to showing our heartfelt appreciation for our mothers not just today but every day.
In that vein, let’s make a resolve to embrace sodium-ion battery technology—a solution inspired by one of Mother Nature’s gifts. At Indi Energy, one of the world’s leading sodium battery companies, we have harnessed the fifth most abundant element to develop our revolutionary sodium-ion battery technology, offering a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional energy storage solutions. To every mother and mother figure, thank you for your love and dedication. Happy Mother’s Day to you all!
Sodium-ion technology is rapidly gaining traction in the energy storage market because, unlike other batteries, Indi Energy’s sodium-ion batteries utilize abundant and inexpensive sodium as their primary material and other proprietary raw materials to significantly reduce production costs.
